ok, i've been doing this 2g to 1g swap about 3 weeks now, i got to the point where i thought i had every thing done tonight, battery connected, wiring looks all connected and right, oil in, starter connected, vac lines on, all of it. so i get in to go start it, nothing, no interior lights or lamps, no dash, no int power windows ect. so i get out look around and found two wires not connected. one by the trans thats a triangle with orange around it? and another behined the intake manifold thats 2 pins and it's black and white that leads off my positive battery cable, i CANNOT find where they connect too and i cannot get the car to crank yet alone start. any ideas or pics of wiring/where they connect any one can show me? i'm trying to gt this done asap, like tomorrow even. please help me if you can!

I'll guess knock sensor for the one behind the intake mani. For the one on the tranny, speed sensor maybe? There's not much in that area. Sounds like your battery is dead as well.

ok, i'll put some pics up tomorrow because its at my friends garage and i needa go there when he's not working so, thanks for the advice so far tho

knock sensor is plugged into the back of the block already, and speed sensor is already connected to the trans, battery is good, i put a volt meter across it and it read 12.7v. any other ideas?

Yes, test it under load. Check your fuses and ground. I am leaning towards main fuse or ground.

The black and white plug, i could figure out where it went either, left it unhooked and had no issues.

it seems to me that it would have to be something with the batter? did all the interior lights work prior to the swap? they should have nothing to do with the motor swap? is the ground connected at the end of the wire?

ok here's the deal, it ended up being a white lead from the fuses needing to be connected to the pos batt cable, but now i can't get it to start!! i got a new starter, it's clicking, but won't crank. any ideas? maybe starter relay? a friend said maybe because of the 2g to 1g swap it could be the ecu? but i've heard that they're fine switchin them and leaving the 2g ecu in, that true? or am i wrong?

any one? no ideas or get back toos? im really at a lost here and need help guys. the starters spinning but not engaging so that means something in the ignition circuit isn't right whether its a fuse or what i dunno, any ideas where to start? and as i mentioned i have a few wires disconnected still but nothing major that i can tell and i can't find where they go, theres about 4 of them

how could i tell?? i got the 6bolt fly wheel with the engine, so i don't know if it was awd or fwd tranny originally on that 6 blt motor, any way i can tell or just replace it basically?

Agreed. If you can hear the starter zipping along, but not making contact, there's a good chance you got an AWD flywheel. You can't really eyeball the difference, but just use your judgement to see where the starter would engage and how far the teeth of the flywheel come up when you take the starter off. Again, the flywheels look nearly identical if you're not paying attention so it could be very well possible.

PM if you need a flywheel, I've got a 6 bolt FWD ACT streetlite flywheel just sitting here in my garage (You guessed it, I bought this not realizing it wasn't going to fit my AWD :( )

This may not be relevant to your problem but Steve and Tom got this going through my head.

If you are trying to use an auto starter and you have a 5 speed car, the starter wont engage on the flywheel. I know this is crucial to a DSM 5 speed swap. I know you didnt mention any swap, just thought in case you grabbed a wrong starter.

nah i got the 5 spd starter, it's been a 5spd no swap from an auto. and how much o u want for that fly wheel? i might need it, thanks again guys, im at the point im getting it towed to turbo trix tomorrow, i've tried ev thing i can think of besides the flywheel :/

Well your post has two mistakes in it. First, you didn't PM me (we can't discuss price on the open forums) and two, you want to tow your car to where!? oi. :|

well now i have a new prob lem, they fixed it it's running now, BUT. it's stuck in first gear. i need to find a shift cable for a 95 eagle talon tsi fwd/mitsu eclipse gst, any one have one please please let me know asap, i will gladly take it off you're hands seeing as no one at all junkyards included around here have one.

ok. it's running, shifting fine, every thing, last problem now, i already checked boost leaks, found an oil leak from the front crank seal, and my oil pump is siezed up now. the car is not being drivin the motor is still fine, im replacing the pump at the shop i work at so i have access to a lift and air tools, does any one know the steps to remove the oil pump? i have a new one, i believe they just gave me the front crankcase? the entire assembly with the pump installed and the crank seal as well, so how do i remove/install it? i have not done one before and thats y i ask, thank you hope t hear back soon
