I recently put all new suspension on my '97 Talon. GAB 4-way shocks with Eiback coilovers. I dropped the car about 2 inches. Needless to say the camber was off in the rear badly and since I have a 2G I took advantage of the homemade rear camber kit idea. I drove the car a week without the camber kit and it felt awesome. Then this weekend I put on the washer and longer bolt like they say to do and hit the highway. The problem is that anything over 60 feels really loose. I couldnt just rest my hand on the wheel like usual, I had to hold it straight and if it turned the wheel a little bit it would feel like the front of the car would turn and then the back would turn a second later, kinda like the back wanted to kick out and start drifting. I know I need an alignment now that all that work was done, but the car doesnt shake or pull to either side so Im wondering if its more then that. Also does the power steering cut out at high speeds on the 2G? Sorry for the long post just trying to give some detail, thanks in advance.

Your rear toe is messed up. Anytime you mess with ride height or do any camber changes you toe will be changed. Time to get an alignment, most likely the rear is toe out right now. That would account for the car being loose or darty at high speed.

Thanks alot. Does anyone know when the power steering cuts out on a 2G? Us 2G's cant see that on a logger either. I miss MMCD with my 1G. It feels like a still have power steering at 70 and I was under the impression it was supposed to cut out. Maybe its just a result of the toe, but it feels so loose I though it may be a combination of things.

Get an alignment; it's the toe. The power steering cuts out at a certain rpm, not speed. And please don't start a thread about rear-tire wear on a lowered 2G, no matter how bad it is.

Well I got an alignment the other day and when I left the car would pull to the right(previously it was straight as an arrow). He wrote on my receipt that I had torque steer so I wnt about 70 and coasted in neutral and it still pulls right, so I went back and they checked it out and gave me this:
"Camber Left Right
(Great) -1/2 -3/4

Caster +6.1/4 +6.1/4

will drift right, no adjustment provided, a tire with a feathered wear patter can aggrivate this condition."

The car feels somewhat better at high speed as far as stability but not perfect and now it pulls right. Any more suggestions?

Post the entire alignment: front and rear toe plus front and rear camber. I'm surprised your 97 has equal caster; must be an early 97.

Torque steer is a laugh. As I have had to post recently, what does this guy think that massive bracket under the AC compressor is for?

What is the AC compressor for? :)

Those were the only number they gave me. Maybe I can try to adjust the caster on one side by flipping the bushing on the driver-side lower compression arm to correct the problem like mitsu did. My other thought was that maybe I dont have the height on the coilovers adjusted just right.

Well, I wouldn't flip the bushing if you go that route. I would swap arms with someone who wants 6* caster on both sides. It's a PITA and it makes little sense for you to be flipping it one direction while someone else flips theirs the other way.
