homemade rear camber kit [merged]

Hey everyone...I am actually a purchasing agent at a business in my area that does nothing but bolts. An M10-1.25x30 grade 10.9 would cost somewhere around 75 cents each at my place...we have huge construction companies buy our bolts to use in huge equipment. If anyone ever needs any bolts, just email me at [email protected] and I'll set you up...and you would probably have to buy a min. of 10, but that is just 7.50....the price may be a lil more, or just a lil less....let me know!

So I did the rear camber kit I read on vfaq using 6 washers behind each bolt and once I dropped the car it made no difference in wheel position. My wheels still tuck in really bad up top. (I believe that is negative camber?) It looks pretty much the same it did prior to the adjustment. Anyway, my question is...Once I get my alignment done tommorow, will that fix my problem? I just figured doing the vfaq mod would straighten up my tires. Thanks! :rocks:

Although it doesn't appear as if it has done anything, in reality it has. The 2g rear fenders are just a little misleading. Once you get it spec'd tomorrow you'll know if it's in spec or not and if it isn't, it's nothing a few more washers can handle.

I did the same thing 2 weeks ago and really didn't think they made a huge difference. Then my tech put it on the alignment rack, both sides were within specs! OMG :thumb: Have faith, it should be alright. Or you might have something more serious lurking.....

i hate to bring this topic back from the dead but did you have to do a front camber kit as well? see im going with the 1.2inch or 1.5 inch drop and i was wondering if the front is going to be that off or not.

ive been looking for the tech article forever on how to do the home depot rear camber kit mod but i can't find it anywhere! any help anybody?

ps i already have a rear camber kit installed, its just not enough i need to add washers and i probably need some longer bolts too so thats why im looking for this mod

There is no artical because the procedure is so simple that if one cannot figure it out just by looking at the suspension, it should not be attempted.

Take off your rear wheel and find where the upper control arms are bolted to the wheel well; four bolts on each side of the car. These are the bolts you will replace with 35 or 40mm bolts and washers or shims added under the mounts (between the mounts and the body). 1/4 inch of spacers will increase your camber just over half a degree. Be sure to properly torque the bolts when you are done to 28 ft-lb.
