2g suspension on 1g's

just wondering why you can't put 2g Tokico shocks or others on the 1g's. Are the connections and suspension characteristics different?

Also, anyone know how to match the spring rates and shock rates to match up a good shock/spring combo? What are good combos? KYB and Eibach, etc?

2g's are mutli link in front while 1g's are MacPherson. The links in the back are different as well. Thats why you can't swap shocks.

As far as matching springs and shocks, you just have to make sure that the shock has enough damping to control the spring rate that you want. Beyond that it gets technical. For your purposes, just look around the board and see what combo's other guys are running and see what they say about them.

I was just about positive the 1g's were MacPherson. Same as the GVR-4's. But just in case. I dug this up off the vfaq as evidence.
