2g shift lever tranny side adjustment?

i was trying to adjust the shift linkage and i looked at the tranny side and the shift lever dirrectly on the tranny has a lot of play i was wandering if there was any way to tighten it or replace it

The linkage on my car recently popped out of position. Under the battery, you can see the mounts where the linkage holds onthe the trans (not the arm, but about 4in toward the firewall). On the one, the metal jacket slide out from the clamp and caused play in the shifter at both the trans and the inside. It's hard to explain.

Best bet would be looking at both cables and seeing where the play is at.

This is what you need, Mine were the same way as yours. I just made some homemade ones though, I'm cheap as cheap can be......

thanks i checked the cables and the shift cable slipped was slipped out but is there no way to tighten that shift lever?
