Ok, I've read over the posts that have been made on this subject. And I still have questions.

I want to swap out the head unit, the rear speakers and the door speakers. I have an Infinity system. I have seen posts on this that says oh, it takes two seconds, to it's a pain to deal with the amp. What's the story. I have seen the mounting kits, but what wiring harness do I want to get? What's best way to bypass the amp, if necessary? Does anyone know where I can get what I need in one stop? URLs?

Thanks

Need more info. What are you putting in instead? I've seen Eclipse harness adapters at Wal*Mart, and other than for the dash speakers, the factory amp is a non-issue. To use them, you'll need to get wires to them (or their replacements) by either tapping into the factory wires at the amp connector under the driver's seat (just yank the seat when you start on this, only two bolts and two nuts, 14mm or 9/16") or running new ones.

This may help you some:

I plan on putting in a Sony MP40 CD/MP3 player two new 6 X 9's and two new 6.5's I wasn't planning on touching the dash speakers.

should be just some wires and a harness to go to the new deck, speakes are just unhook 2 wires, hook them back in again. but you do need a harness for the deck, or you can clip the wires and connect them that way, but its a huge pain in the ass.

Is there a one stop shop where I can get the harness and the mounting kit?

Thanks

You need the wiring harness, dash kit, and an amp bypass. The bypass is about 30 bucks at best buy. After the deck is in, its a simple swap for each speaker.

well.... i recently instaled a kenwood excelon 5 series deck in my 95 tsi. it does have infinity sound and it is kind of a crazy set up and in my opinion bullshit. the back speakers are running a normal 4 ohm load while the front six 1/2's share the tweeters power and gets some weird load. when you hook up the new deck the tweeters will not work and your sound will be coming mostly from the back speakers becuase the fronts are running at only half of there capability. you can run the tweeters to the deck but they will blow. your better off just going with a component system for the front and go with your other 6x9's and just throwing that amp out. PLEASE DONT TAKE PERSONAL FOR ANYONE WHO JUST LOVES THE INFINITY SOUND. its just my opinion it sounds good b4 the new install but after its just to much hassel.
