I have a 96 gst and it fwd turbo the transmission will go in first but if you dont hold it in there it will pop out or grind could you guys tell me what wrong. And also i have a engine light i had it checked and it came out as a mdp sensor. How do i check if it good.
 
how many miles are on it it sounds like you need a rebuild
i dont know how to check the mdp but it shouldent effect the way your car runs
 
I had a problem with mine popping out of first gear. Ended up being that the inertcooler pipe was up against the linkage on the top of the tranny. I would check for mechanical interference and maybe try to adjust the linkages before considering a rebuild.
 
I dont know how to adjust the linkages but the rest of the gears work fine it just first when i am at a stop and go in first i have to hold it there and push hard for it not to pop out some time it works some times it doesnt but. I dont know if they have syncros in first and if they do maybe that what wrong or it could be a bent shift fork. This is a mostly stock 7bolt when i try to spool up to 8-10 psi it flutters and hesitates doesnt do it some time and then some times it feels better then last time. What could cause the turbo not to spool the right way the most i have hit was .7 bar witch is 10psi i think. What are the thinks to make sure for it to work right. I have just installed a felpro brand new head gasket and a gates 1year timing belt
 
When my 1st gear would pop out from a stop to a go it was becasue the inermediate shaft was moving around in the belt housing. The longer you do this the moe damage you will make, possibly destroying the housing beyond repair. Jon at TRE had to cnc machine mine to correct it. I would give him a call or an email, he can provide you with tons of info.
 
I take his email if you got it i dont have a intermediate shaft long axle and short axle. I dont know if 1st has syncros i think that might be the problem and one more thing i fixed the rest of the problems the check engine was fixed bad connection or plunged mdp sensor. No i still have a boost problem when it goes in boost it kinda cuts out and slow down not clean boost the way it should be what could cause that i am going to change the spark plugs tomorrow. what else could it be. It goes up to .7bar or under 10psi around there
 
I don' have it in an email, I called and spend like 4 hours on the phone. The guy is just a book of knowledge and would take mutiple phone battaries to begin to explain everything he knows. But He is very frinedly just send an email. GL
