I need to know what i am going to need to hook up a stock 2g intake with the mas. i recieved this from my bro about a week ago because he upgraded to a hard intake pipe now im just trying to hook it up but i need the 2g mas harness. I just wanted to know what else i may need becasue iv'e heard i need a safc to tune it. my setup is basically stock except for a 2g ported manifold, 450 cc injectors, 5speed fpr, 5 speed non eprom ecu, im still running the stock little 13g it is ported however and i'm hoping to hit 13's on this turbo before i switch. looking to push about 15-16 psi when my mbc gets here. is that a good idea? my bro's on 15 psi on a rebuilt t25 and it seems fine.

A logger will help you see whats going on in addition to a safc both would be very helpful, or upgrade to link lite and youll have more than enough tuning parameters. 2g maf i would at least get some 550 injectors to compensate for a bit more air flow.

The 2g maf and 550 injectors are a direct bolt in. You will have to use the calculator to figure out at 38 psi fuel pressure if the 550s will be flowing 550cc's of fuel.

Or using dsmlink, or a custom eprom chip, flashable ecu.You can tell the ecu your using a 2g maf.

But on the safc you should be able to enrich the fuel enough to compensate. This is very easy to hookup. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-intake-exhaust/440902-2g-maf-wiring-dummies.html

thanks both of you im probably gonna just go with link instead of the safc. And a set of 550's, do i need an afpr or will the 5 speed work with them?

will my little 13g be alrite on 16 psi?

Well like I said use one of the online calculators to find out how much fuel those flow on 1g manual fuel pressure.Possibly go back to the auto fpr.

A 13g on 16psi..Ahhh thats iffy...I probably wouldnt go above 14 to be honest.You really need a 14b.

With my auto, I swapped in the 2gMAF, 550's. AFPR (set to MANUAL pressure), e316g, wally 255 and a Manual ECU. This was a perfect setup, loved 23psi all day long.

If you are staying on the Auto ECU, I'm not sure how it would run for you at 38psi FP. But, the 390's at the higher pressure flow like 450's, so if you are running 450's, math will definitely be needed to see if they flow like 550's for the 2g MAF, but I think they may not be enough and you might run lean.

I say you keep the 13G on there and see what it'll do in the quarter at like 15-17 psi.

No one has ever really maxed out a 13G to my knowledge. I think it would be fun.

That turbo probably spools up on a rev haha. The turbine housings are puny.

The 13g spools at idle pretty much..It's a very nice turbo for an auto.If the car is stock. It's got great low end..

Honestly I love the 13g idle spool. But I am pretty impressed with the 14b so far too.

Never mind, just found the fastest time. Doesn't look like you're gonna touch it.

I know, not an AUTO but, with my full weight 92 gsx 5speed, I ran a TD04HL 13g to a 13.18 @ 103.9mph with a 8.433 1/8th @ 82.17mph, with a 1.81 60ft time.

The engine was just a 2g piston 1g rod 6bolt combo. DSMLink, E85, Full 3" TBE, FMIC, header, o2 dump, and 20psi falling to 14 at 6k.

I believe it could have had a 12 sec pass in it though. I cranked the boost controller down some more and was getting a 25psi spike but blew a boost pipe before the 1/8th. 60ft was 1.73 and 1/8th time was 8.428 @ 71.1mph.

For reliability, this turbo was great the entire time I had it. Loved the quick spool and suprized alot of people. The only problem I had with it was that it burned a little bit oil the entire time. Never worsened but is never a good thing.

Yeah, the 14b is my favorite MHI turbo so far.

Why are you even switching to a 2g maf right now? You don't need it.

I got the 2g maf as a gift i was just trying to see if i could put it to use but never mind. your right i don't need it at this stage.

I'm running a 5 speed non eprom ecu. 450's, 5 speed fpr and 2g ported exhaust manifold i dont have a a/f ration gauge but it don't seem to be running rich.

that's what i'm gonna do. i want to make a couple passes on the 13g at 16 psi. it ran 16.4 at stock boost with alot of boost leaks, since then i put on the 450's fpr and manifold and fixed all boost leaks. hopefully this time ill hit 14's shouldn't be a problem on 16 psi.

13g is a turd. Don't waste your time trying to tune and get into 13's with it.

Im going to say this 1 more time... i am not trying to break any records i am just trying to see what the little 13g can do before i switch to a 14b. thats why i said im keeping my mods that i got on and turning up the boost im still running stock 9 psi. I'm just gonna push 16 psi and try to hit a decent 14 second pass

I dont see why you shouldnt be able to knock out some 13's. The 13g is still 240whp capable. The 2g maf and 550 combo you have planned should get you there.

I would have gone the same route as you if my auto car didnt already have a 14b on it when i bought it.

Stocker.Or you could follow the linky I wrote, and posted.LOL

Hey the link to the pigtail was useful, i hope LOL

That is a good write up though. :thumb:

Hey thanks man..I tried following some other links. But then decided to make it super easy and do a write up.

I have to edit it tho..I forgot to add, you should probably solder the wires together..I'll get there.
