2g knock sensor in a 1g

hey I was wondering if you can use a 2g knock sensor in a 1g reason why I am asking is I found a brand new one for 10 bucks but for a 2g ?

Unless you are running an AEM EMS, you can't run a 2g sensor in a 1g car. With the AEM it is encouraged.

The knock sensor has to match the circuit in the ECU that reads it. So 1G ECU 1G knock sensor. Since the AEM was designed to the 2G sensor you need to use one with it in a 1G.

The AEM can actually work with either sensor, it doesn't care. The 2g sensor is much more sensitive though, so it is prefered.
