I was having a bunch of clutch issues and couldn't seem to figure out the problem, so I dropped it off at a shop where they were able to get good pressure again (I couldn't before) after replacing the master cylinder. Sadly, they were still unable to get it into gear. They think the transmission needs rebuilt or replaced, but I think they may have just adjusted something incorrectly so that the slave doesn't travel enough to fully disengage the clutch.

If somebody knows the range that the slave should be traveling or could send a video for me to reference, that would be a huge help.

Thanks!

Just as an update I wanted to thank everyone who responded to this thread telling me it was just an adjustment. I'm home for the Holliday...
Show us a picture of your clutch fork position in the window. Can you manually push the slave in still?

-Daniel
I posted a video in the thread below. Sorry about the quality, the car is at a shop in my hometown so I had my father get a video of the slave and send it to me. They have good pressure but I can tell the slave isn't moving anywhere near what it's supposed to. It was hitting the left side of the fork boot before the issue so something isn't right. Does this look like something that can be fixed with a proper clutch adjustment or is it too far off?

When you say the fork was hitting the boot? Are you saying when you used to push the clutch in, the fork would bottom out on the transmission?

Seems like the shop may have shimmed the pivot ball then.

Hard to tell in the video but the fork seems close to the “normal” position.

I’m curious to know if you can still manually push the slave rod back into itself if you were to manually push the clutch fork the opposite way. This will tell us if the master rod as been adjusted incorrectly.

-Daniel

No, it wasn't bottoming out, it would just go far enough to start flexing the left side of the boot (maybe another cm or 2), not hitting metal or anything. I'll see if my dad can get to the shop to check if he can manually push the slave in.

Thanks,
- Kyle

Just as an update I wanted to thank everyone who responded to this thread telling me it was just an adjustment. I'm home for the Holliday so I went and paid the shop for the one hour of work they had done replacing the master and bleeding the clutch and had the car towed home. After 2 seconds of looking at the clutch assembly in the car I knew the issue and fixed it. The adjustment rod from the master was adjusted as far into the pedal assembly as it could meaning it was barely traveling and not even hitting the switch at the top. I adjusted it just to the point where it would top out when the switch bottomed out and now it drives and shifts like new so thank you all so much for the advice.

Awesome! Glad you've got it back to golden!
Wow, the shop couldn't figure that out?!?! 🤯 You should present your tow bill to have them pay it after you finished the job at home. Time to find a new shop!
However, like Daniel mentioned, you need to push on the end of the fork towards the slave cylinder. It should push in with some resistance. If it does not, you've over adjusted it. Try 1/2 turn at a time until you're able to push the fork towards the slave and have it return on its own.
