2g gsx studdering while cold

hey guys, im new to the forum. I've had my 97 gsx for about 8 months and its been ok except for having to replace the tranny the first week of having it . but now being an ohio car the weather is all over the place and the car seems to stutter for a second between 2-2.5k rpms only when cold once warmed up everything is fine. any ideas? and also boost up top feels weak occasionally could the be due to lifters going bad? yes i have the notorious lifter tick at the moment but i am going to buy new lifters.

Try replacing the plugs to start with, however you should NOT be revving it up, or being hard on it until its warm, PERIOD.

Get some NGK bpr7es's, and gap them to .028. This should help, if not cure it, however dont be hard on the car until its warmed up, completely.

no worry i know not to beat on the car until warmed up . the whole boost feeling weak is when it car is warmed up. i have the NGK wires but looks like its time for new plugs.

some good plugs. and our cars are not good in winter. thats just how it is.

I agree, dsm's and 4g63's for that matter just seem to hate them cold. Every dsm i've ever owned has taken longer to run appropriately in the winter time than in the summer.

Replace the plugs for sure with good ol' NGK coppers

boost leak test?

i had a boost leak a while ago. my 1g bov went bad so i put a knock off type s bov on not boost leak now. and i just bought platinum plugs cause they had no ngk coppers.does the difference between platinum and copper make a big difference? or is it just recomended?
