like the title says, I need advice with my summer build. I spent the past 24 hours reading and have learned alot, but still need lots of help. I'm going with a evo III 16g. FIC 550 injectors. rewired stock pump. and apexi neo afc. I have air fuel guage. Boost gushed. Just want a oil pressure gauge

The 16g and afc are from the same guy, and it's already tuned for 550cc injectors by forged performance.

am I missing anything else?

Thanks

upgraded maf (3G / 482 MAF) would be a cheap addition. Is all your maintenance up to snuff?

Do you happen to have a laptop? If so I'd suggest get Ceddymods /Ecuflash for you tuning solution instead of a Afc since you already have a 98 and getting it retuned. And as stated above you should certainly grab atleast a walbro 190 fuel pump or a evo IX fuel pump. You will definitely need the fuel.

safc is tuned for 15lbs so it's not that much boost. I saw a thread that did a comparison of fuel pumps and a rewired stock pump flows 99% as much as a normal 190. I also dont have a real HP goal in mind. If I get 250 I'll be happy

maintenance will be done before any mods are added.

Since the afc was tuned with a similar tune ill try to use that as a base to start from.

stock exhaust is 2.25 inches. up until 350-400hp 2.5inches is usually used. IMO not worth the money

why did you ask the question if you already have all your answers. Hundreds of people on this website have 16g setups. Look at what they are running and how much power they make, and then decide what you need and what your budget allows.

If you cant afford a 60$ fuel pump, don't bother even modding the car though.

I've actually learned alot by reading other peoples builds with similar setups. Hence why I haven't asked so many questions. This thread helped me decide to get a fmic. I previously wanted to stay with the stock cooler.

Its not that I can't afford it. Its the fact that its not necessary. Actually found out last night that with upgraded lines the stock pump will actually outflow a 190 with stock lines. So with stock lines they are 99% the same.

I guess if you want to make 230hp the stock exhaust and stock pump is cool, then again why would you waste your time to make such little hp.
Im sure by a/f you mean a narrowband 60 dollar gauge and not a useless wideband right?

I take it you havent seen this article? http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-tuning-ecu/366003-injector-fuel-pump-supported-airflow.html

I mean forget $60, you can get a evo IX fuel pump which flows about the same as the walbro 190 for ~$30. I mean for the amount of gain you're getting for the price its seems like a no brainer to me. Why try and max out the stock pump while a rewired 190 can support what your going for and give you plenty of cushion on your FUEL system.

Thats the same writeup that made me realize stock rewired = 190

in that case I'll probably do the evo pump rewired. right now I'm just gathering parts and info. going to research loggers tonight. if anyone has any good links or advice please post them up. and cheap = good. so no dsmlink. not yet. the next gsx will get dsmlink and the whole 9 yards.

So when did a wideband become useless? I think you have that backwards. If you ask me and all my experience with cars in general a narrowband is the useless light show.

^+1 look into evoscan. $20 download of there site and $10 cable of eBay. What's not to like.:hellyeah:

link to cable please. I already have a cheapy ebay odb2 cable. also ebay bluetooth obd2 dongle. its 25 if you dont buy their cable

I think he meant useful LOL

looks like the previous owner made it easier to rewire :thumb: looks like 6 guage or something with 50A fuse right to the battery
