like the title says, I need advice with my summer build. I spent the past 24 hours reading and have learned alot, but still need lots of help. I'm going with a evo III 16g. FIC 550 injectors. rewired stock pump. and apexi neo afc. I have air fuel guage. Boost gushed. Just want a oil pressure gauge

The 16g and afc are from the same guy, and it's already tuned for 550cc injectors by forged performance.

am I missing anything else?

Thanks

he was being sarcastic cause the OP is trying to get cheap on important parts.

actually i bought the af gauge before I had any intentions of doing any modding. When I bought it, it was throwing lots of codes about o2 and fuel trim. I bought the gauge like new for $6 shipped. it was for diagnostic purposes not tuning

The logger is for tuning.

For sure get a different pump. You can get an evo 8 pump for cheap and you can always package deal it with the evo injectors. That is the set-up i'm running.

As long as you weren't using it in place of a wideband. And since you already have a logging cable you could be logging tomorrow. And I don't know if you read it but to flash your ECU you are going to have to get a 2.0 cable, which is a bit more money than the 1.3 vagcom.

Is there a reason your going cheap on everything if you have the money. Dont kid me wrong I understand wanting to save a dollar. But im positive by being cheap its only gunna cost you more money down the road due to bad quality related products and failures. I hope your pocket book is ready for that.

I got a final tomorrow at 2. and another car to fix. I'm just gathering everything now. work on the eclipse will start in a few weeks. I'm going to tune it with a safc

I wouldnt say i've gone cheap. I'm not getting cheap parts. I either get quality parts used or dont get it at all. Already have an authentic big 16g. fic 550 injectors. hks bov. autometer liquid filled boost guage. Thats why now I'm looking for a lightly used quality clutch instead of getting some new junk off ebay. The only "crappy" part I have is the mbc and that was free. I'm not keeping this car past summer. Once school starts I'm putting the car back to stock and selling it. might keep the parts for next summer. I'm bound to find another eclipse over the winter.

for example- the guy saying I need a wideband. How often would I look at it? rarely. It's only there to show me if I'm running lean, stoich, or rich. I dont care to what degree. all I really care is for it to let me know when if my fuel pump cant handle it. When that happens, I'll upgrade the fuel pump to a USED evo pump. Then maybe upgrade to FMIC. I would upgrade the exhaust but I'm not paying rediculous amounts of money just for shipping. I wont get that money back.

speaking of fuel pumps, everyone says that you need an afpr when you upgrade to the 255. just look at all the threads about it. But the guy I got the turbo from runs a 255 with stock fpr. and he's fine. He actually had his car profesionally tuned twice and they said nothing about it. same guy just spend 800 on dsmlink when evoscan and ceddymod are cheaper. They may be slightly eaiser to use or something, but in the end everyone has a different value for everything.

Just wish people would be more open minded. cars are not black and white. Not everything has to be done a certain way.

If 250whp is your goal, you'll be perfectly fine with the stock re-wired fuel pump. Since you're on a budget, I wouldn't buy parts that won't move you towards the goal you've set for yourself.

It sounds like you're on the right path to what you want to do, Keep us updated.

alright... I'll admit it  The reason I'm so cheap is because I'm buying an engagement ring and it's going to cost almost as much as the gsx including all the parts

250 at the wheels is about 300 at the crank so I'm good. 300 at the wheels is around 360 which is getting kinda close to the 400hp no no zone for the internals
