2g GSX alternator bolt size

I'm missing the upper alternator tensioner/locking mechanism piece that holds the alternator in place. The bracket is still in place so I was wondering what the bolt size was that goes through the bracket and alternator..

I plan to bypass the locking bolt and just bolt the alternator directly to the bracket and tension it myself. I read that the bolt size is m8x1.25.. Is this correct?
