ok so heres the deal i got a 2g fwd tranny that i just put into my 92tsi fwd. everything seemed to be going correctly until i got to putting the passenger side cv axle in. i had to go out and buy new axles since the 2g trannys splines on the inner part of the axle are a larger diameter so i couldnt use my 1g axles. ok so i bought the axles came home put the drivers side in first it went in fine. went to put the passenger side in and the splines threaded into the tranny just fine and snapped into place but the axle was like an inch to long so i couldnt get the 2 bolts that i took out of my strut to go back in. does anyone know what year passenger side cv axle i might need for this to work??? also i know that the 93 and 94 trannys have 2g internals but do they also have the larger diameter axle splines or are they the same as a 90-92???

I'm sorry I don't have an answer, but I think you're supposed to stick to your previous thread. It's all the same question.
It might not be my place to say the above, but I am curious about the answer to your situation. Where did you get the idea to put a 2G trans in a 1G car?

well i broke my other tranny and i got a good deal on this 2g tranny. i did some research on here and found out lots of people have done it and that the the 2g tranny arent as notchy and dont grind as much. but out of all the swaps i read about none of them said anything about swapping axles and they said the swap was pretty much a direct bolt in but im having a hell of a time with this axle problem.....
