Hello all!
quick newbie question for you (and i already searched the forums with no luck)...

I have a crack in my stock 2g exhaust manifold and am buying an Evo Exhaust from FP to replace it. what is the outlet diameter on the evo manifold, isn't it like 7cm???
and also, what is the inlet size of the stock t25 turbo?? i was under the impression it was like 6cm maybe?

could someone let me know if they have the answers to these simple newie questions so I know if it will work and which gaskets i will need to buy for the connection between the turbo and manifold.... also... if there is a 1cm gap between the 2, is porting them to the same size a hard process?? like i said... im pretty much a newbie!

any help is MUCH appreciated!
thanks!
matt

You are correct the evo mani is 7cm while the t25 is 6cm. it will work just get a 7cm gasket in case you decide to upgrade.

thanks for you quick answer!!

wouldn't it be bad though since there would be a lip sticking out?? is that something i would have to grind down? or is it really no big deal to have that?

eventually (this spring) I am going to upgrade to a T28 which i heard was the same size as the t25... so is this "lip" problem something i sould worry about for thr future as well??

thanks!

You figure either way you are going to have a lip, weather it's the gasket surface or the manifold surface (unless you port it).

good point...

so let's say i get the EvoIII manifold with the 7cm outlet... and i buy a 7cm gasket and im going to attach it to my T25 (and later my T28)...
how hard is it to port the turbo inlet to match the 7cm opening of the manifold?? is this something that can be done at home with time, patience, and a dremmel bit or 2??
or would this be something a shop would have to do? :dsm:
