2g exhaust manifold on a 1g require any modding or dremel?

Hey, isn't the 2g exhaust manifold a direct bolt on for a 1g? There was a site where someone was saying that you had to use a dremel on the 2g manifold on the corner to get it to fit? I've got the exhaust mani and turbo all bolted together ready to go, just want to make sure before I try to put it on the car.

If I can remember correctly, the 2g manifold was cast with sort of a sharper corner at the flange at the side closest to the power steering. This got in the way and required very slight grinding. You can use anything from a file to a belt sander to smooth that corner down. Mock it up, and if it needs to be ground, it will be an easy fix.

Hey I have a 91 block. The head had been off just now so the power steering pump is off. The manifold fit just fine. Will I have any issues putting the PS pump back on though?

I removed my PS pump and installed my 2g maniold without any issues. But it is a pain to remove the PS sometimes. So yes, I was able to remove my PS pump and braket and install the manifold then reinstall the PS without any clearence issues.

The clearance issue wasn't with the PS pump. If I recall correctly it was with a bracket or casting on the block? Your manifold may already be ground down by previous owners depending on where you got it from. ....and where they got it from as well. In that case, less work for you!
