ok i have been reading about exhaust systems for the 2g and they are all way to $$$$ LOL so i plan to make my own and i just wanted to make sure it was ok to remove the res. and the cat and run straight tubing all the way?? on a mostly stock 2g talon i mean my boost is raised and i have after market bov.all the free mods, free,er flowing in take tube and no muffler on the car i have after market IC piping also and k&n filter air box delete so it is mostly stock but i know exhaust is one of the first steps and i can bend and weld pipe so i want to make my own 3in stright pipe with maybe a muffler

and before some one brings it up i am a police officer and i do know my state and local laws and i know stright pipes are loud:thumb:

so the question is.....is it ok to run that kind of exhaust on a stock car??

When you remove the cat you may throw a CEL light, there is a write up on how to get around this on here somewhere. Basically you need to space the rear o2 (in cat) further out of the pipe to prevent it FYI.

Perfectly fine as long as you dont have emissions. You can run a 4" side exit if you want LOL. Doesnt matter. The turbine housing provides adequate backpressure for the 4g63. Its not like a N/A motor.
