Resolved 2G Difference between PCM and ECU?

Ok, so is there a difference between the ECU and the PCM? Probably a dumb question but I don't know the answer.

Also will a 97 PCM work in a 95?

Oh and how do I tell if my car is EPROM or not? It's a 95 GS-T w/ at tranny

ok, powertrain control module (PCM) and electronic control unit (ECU) the term are usually interchangeable but have specific meanings with DSMs. This link should help you tell if its an EPROM ECU epromid [ECMTuning - wiki]

The PCM is used only on the 2g 420A (chrysler) engine where an ECU is used on all other DSM engines. You cannot use an ECU on a 420A or a PCM on non 420A's. The wiring harnesses are completely different. You can sometimes switch some ECU years with other ECU years depending on the year and generation (and some PCM years with others depending).
