Is it possible to fit a 2G blitz front bumper on a 1G. Anyone done anything similar?

That would be something very interesting to see LOL, i highly doubt it will work, ur gonna need alot of body shop work done, so prepare to spend alot of money on labor

this is what i found in the gallery:

it's a 1st gen eclipse with 2nd gen front. the owners name is "sliverbullet" (no, not silver).

Before they offered the blitz kit for 1g's a saw some pics of people who made it work. They took the top half a a similar fiberglass bumper and made it work. It was creative at the time because it was a new kit for 2g's so not very many 2g's had it to begin with. Now that every has the blitz fron on their 2g, i don't see the point. And the fact they make them for 1g, very pointless.

but the 2g blitz front with the 2g headlights looks much better than the 1g "blitz" bumper. of course many people have a blitz bumper on their 2g but having a 2g blitz front on a 1g is not so common in my opinion.

Be prepared to do a LOT of work. That 1g has some very wide fenders just to accomidate (sp?) for the 2g front.

you would be better off getting the blitz look alike kit for the 1g and mold the 2g lights in rather then try to mold the hole front end on
my 2g front bumper broke off and i decided to mess with my recked 1g and i held the front bumper on to it and it fit all the way around my car with the stock bumper still on with more room to spare so i just said never mind

i think it looks pretty good when done right..

heres a pic i found

no offence...but that is a pretty stupid way of thinking.

now let me explain myself.
you think a 2g blitz bumper is going to be better for a 1g...because not many people have a 2g blitz bumper on there 1g
however, they sell a 1g blitz bumpr that already fits the 1g, the 2g bumper needs to be made to fit.
In the end, with the 2g blitz you have spent more money to make it work and guess what it looks like.....a 1g blitz bumper WTF

if you want the blitz bumper on a 1g, buy the one intended for a 1g. in the end, after all the work you put into making a 2g bumper fit, no one is going to know/care at all that its a 2g bumper. to everyone else they will say "hey look he has the 1g blitz bumper"

Yeah, if you want it to be "not so common" do a whole front end conversion. Lights, wide fenders, etc... hope ya got cash! Otherwise if you like it, just pick up that blitz style kit for the 1g.
If you're gonna go through the hassle of cutting/molding a kit so it's unique on the 1g find something else, and I'd find a different car to take it from. Maybe an early probe, they have "similar" bodies... good luck.

yeah thats basically what im saying. if you want to be unique, dont mold (make fit) a bumper from one car that they make an exact copy of for the car already. that is not unique at all. putting some other 2g kit, like one they dont make for a 1g would be unique.

here are some things I found that are unique but somewhat ugly
and yes I know that is does not fit the tread very well
