Hello,
I am in the process of reassembling 2G AWD transmission using OEM service manual. There few items I need clarification on:
1. I did not have an "input shaft end oil seal". Is it needed?
NOTE: it is an EVO3 input shaft.

2. Manual talks about 1st/2nd gear synchronizer rings "identification marks". I do see the marks but cannot figure out what those marks are referring to. NOTE: I have double synchros evo3 1st through 4th gears.

3. I did not mark sleeve teeth in relation to hub teeth. Same thing with synchro rings. If I reassemble sleeve/hub/synchros and it turns out they are not in the same position as they were prior to disassembly, would there be any issues? NOTE: I already assembled an input shaft and 3rd/4th slider moves smooth.

Thanks!

I found my answers.
1. No need to use an oil seal at the end of the input shaft.
2. Identification marks on 1st/2nd synchro rings do not need to be aligned with anything.
3. As long as a slider moves smooth over the hub, there is nothing to worry about.

Addition: when pressing a hub on a shaft, got to make sure an oiling hole on the shaft lines up with an oil groove on the hub.

Yup, that easy. If you like I can photo document the assembly of an identical gearset for you.

Let me know when you get your solder thicknesses for all the shafts and we can get you squared away with the proper shims!
