hey guys i have a leak from trans case and i wanted to know how to fill it so ican make it to the shop 5 spd tsiawd all i saw was about some recall and that was no hep pics would be great of fill point:confused:

Searching threads (been covered numerous times) or vfaq.com will answer this question. They even tell you what size the drain hole and fill hole bolts are.

Goodluck.... :)

the picture is taken from the driver side of the car. the plug is right at the front of the tranfer case and its a 18mm socket or 17 mm. i dont remember wich between the two.
put 500ml of gear oil in it

PM me your VIN & mileage and I'll tell if the recall has been performed or not.

i am the first owner of the car and it has 54400 orig miles the car had to sit in my garage 4 a couple years while i scraped up $ to install clutch and get some other typical dsm probs fixed idling at 4000 rpms then normal (throttle cable to tight) rough idle(timming off) so i daont know if it was the sitting that maybe wasn't the best for it

youll need a 17mm socket for the front plug of the t-case.

mine started leaking last december again even after the recall had been done before. I topped off the fluid and braved it to the dealer (but it wasn't leaking that bad). The dealer kept my car for a friggen week and then finally replaced the seal. I had to get on them to do it though.

Even if its been performed and its leaking, they still have to fix the leak
If the fluid is very low, any noise or grinding, and any shavings and they have to replace the unit.
I had mine replaced because of noise and shavings, no questions asked
There are threads on here, that have most of the actual recall notice posted as well

I believe the drain is 22 or 24mm and fill is 17mm to the poster
