I finally found some time to drive out to go pick up my parts over the weekend. This wing is seriously sweet. The adjustability seems endless and it is extremely sturdy. Also got my new chute mount installed too, had to test fit it all together with the chute halfway packed LOL(wasn't about to try to tackle packing the spring with it by myself, that's basically impossible haha) Where the 4 rods meet the rear bumper the heim joints are held in with quick release pins so in 5 seconds you pull 4 pins out and you can still easily open the hatch.

I also picked up the main hoop for the turd. It still needs cut down about 1"-1.5" but I just wanted to see how it fits and its great! I can finally get to working on the cage so this thing can move one more step closer to completion.

Update on the new engine - I don't have one LOL.. still at the machine shop :(

I swear its almost impossible, I've done it once haha normally the spring just pushes to the side and screws up the chute to where you just have to start all over LOL and thank you!
Yea I almost knocked myself out the first time I tried packing mine by myself LOL. Wife helps me now and makes life easy

I just read this while build thread pretty much! What a beautiful car you have built from your garage. Only question I have is what quick releases are those you have on your front bumper?

Still waiting patiently for my motor to be finished sooo CAGE TIME! Thanks to @goonie90gsx we were able to get a bunch of cage work done over the weekend on the turd! Ordering the rest of my chromoly today for the door bars, harness bar and rear bars. The hard part is done(main hoop, front bars, windshield bar) now its just a few straight pieces with easy notches - on the home stretch...kinda!

Hell yea man glad to help and we’re actually pretty darn good at this whole race car thing haha!

Once the cage is done the inside of the car is getting paint, then its onto building the tube front end, then paint on the outside and finally swap all my parts from the black car to the new shell.

Is there something wrong with the black shell? Tried going back a few pages and didn’t see anything. Just curious why you’re swapping shells.

its a little crusty underneath the black one if i remember him saying it right.

More than a little crusty LOL! At any given time the rear end is liable to rip out of it hahah.

@OH91awd its more than your basic 10 pt cage. I am not doing the full funny car style enclosure but just the helmet bar from door bar to roof with an additional roof bar from corner to corner. The rear bars are going to be something fancy. You'll all see that soon! :)

looking forward to seeing how it turns out buddy.

THE SCRAMBLE!
Here goes nothing to try to make it to the shootout, or whats left of it for this year..freakin covid. Everything I need to get this car running and driving is currently in the mail on its way! PTE 6870 h cover 1.15 ar divided t4, 6" thicc boi intercooler with custom billet end tanks, gaskets, oil, fuel filter, oil filter, spark plugs - everything should be here by beginning of next week. The head is nearing completion, the guides were installed this week finally and is getting ported this weekend. The block I have no idea where its at in the process LOL but I am being told I will have a fully completed motor by NO later than the first week of August. Basically that gives me 1 week to get it assembled, installed in the car, running and hit the dyno... I haven't had a shootout scramble like this in yeaaars but bring it on!!
The last few days I've been knocking out all the small things I can to try to be prepared for when the motor is done. I got the passenger side window frame mounted finally....it only took 6 months LOL the weld on tabs are in the mail being delivered tomorrow so this weekend I will get the lexan mounted, side skirt caps on, fenders full mounted on. buttoning things up in the interior. Pretty much ready to roll once this engines back in my hands!
