Im wondering if anyone out there could give me their opinion for the best all around brake combo for a daily driven 2g awd with the occasional light track duty. I currently have the powerslot big rotor front kit with EBC green stuff pads. And powerslot slotted rear rotors also with ebc pads. They do the job but i feel like they really dont have that much bite in them. I know a real big brake kit would obviously be the best choice but i am on a budget and as i said it is a daily driver somewhat so I dont want to have to change pads every month just from cruisin around town, so I was wondering if maybe some new Hawk (or other brand) pads might help improve.? Anyone out there have any input would be appreciated.

Ive thought about this alot for auto-x and would used either the Cobra calipers/rotors or Evo brake swap in the front and then the Evo swap in the rear.

It would just depend on what I could find at the time.

I'm running Brembo Slotted rotors and Hawk HPS pads, and LOVE THEM. I had to stop suddenly on the highway, truck tried to run me over, I thought my rear end came off the ground, the brakes worked so well. I have tested then in my GSX on the street and at the track and I'd recommend this setup.

I've been going thru the same thought process regarding braking systems. I run the stock Brembo's on my STi with porterfields, so I know what they can do on the street. They are great but the rotor mass and MOI is pretty high for an upgrade, you want to put the mass where it can do some good. For my DSM I'm leaning towards the TCE 13" rotors in the 1.1" width for a good compromise. Alot of it depends on vehicle weight and what your terminal speed is before you start hitting the braking zone. Seems to be a popular kit.

You would do the Evo swap over the TCE kit Dallas? I know neither are probably in the OP's price range right now, but just wondering your thoughts.

I pretty much only Auto-x and while braking is important, I have yet to have a single bit of fade in 5 years with stock 2g rotors and porterfield R4-S's. I hear some people talking about having fade in Auto-x but I still havent seen it.

Thanks for the suggestions i just ordered new Hawk HPS pads all around i think they will be the best for everyday and they occasional track day with all the things ive heard around the forums
