2g Auto Shifter

Ive searched and found nothing but I recently changed the transmission and upon installing the shifter cable its all screwed up.

Where is park? becase right now when its in park it wants to go into drive.

Park is two up from drive..PRD21.

First time doing this but where do I put the metal piece? because theres a spot where holes line up or the middle spot

Its the metal lever attached to the shifter cable. One point theres a spot for the holes to line up but car wont start in park and park is drive when its on.

Is it in park when the holes line up?

Put the tranny in neutral, in the engine compartment. Make sure the bolt attaching the cable to the tranny is loose. Have a helper in the car hold the shifter handle in neutral while u tighten the bolt at. The tranny. Verify it shifts into each gear properly. If not , loosen bolt and have helper hold shifter in 1 , place tranny in 1 , and tighten .repeat as necessary.
