ive been having trouble with my car misfire cylinder number 1 at a cruising speed but if i press in the clutch let rpms go down then go back in to gear its fine ive heard alot about abad cas it its out of alighnment, or my injectors need rewiring but where im stomped at is that if i unhook my maf all together i dont see this problem ever but iget horrible gas mileage and cold starts are horrible idle until at operateing temp with mymaf hooked up im throwing these codes after cylinder misfire at 60 mph at 2min onhwy p1400 p0301 p0443 p1105 p1104 p0403 most are evap egr and map sensor fuel pressure soleinoid and wastegate solenoid can anyone help me please im new to dsm and are running low on funds wanna fix it right the first time

does anyone think my maf is just bad or could any of my codes be the problem also i do not have any of my o2 sensors hooked up po cut them as well as a red power wire from maf connector wonder why car misfire after isaulder the wireback i need allthe help ican get luckily ican work on it in class but all data only goes so far with my swap

thats the typical random misfire you get when you swap 6bolt into a 2g. only person i knew that could make it stop is the guy from dsmchips.

It's going to happen with the swap unless you modified a 2g front case to fit the 6 bolt block.

You removed the very accurate cam and crank angle sensor and replaced both with a less accurate 1g CAS.

ECMLink is able to remove the check for misfire and apparently so can burnt chips with the proper code in place. Unsure if you can remove it using the flashable ECU and flash program.

Yes, i have the same problem. i hear you need to turn off the random miss fire check in a link. But im not sure this is correct. I dont have laptop or link software to get into link so i don't know.

But if anybody have successfully figure it out, please share your information, i would also like to know.

oh ok, so Link does have the ability to remove misfire correct? through unchecking the misfire option?

Just do it yourself. Plug into the ECU, go to the DTC tab and uncheck the random misfire box.

I am in the process of doing this swap right now and I chose to go with the 1g cas instead of modding the block to accept the 2g oil pump to run the crank sensor.

does the car actually misfire or does it just flag a code for misfire, does the car run smoothly with the cas or is it finicky. I can live with the CEL light on.

I would if i have a software and lab top but i have neither. i just have the cable and that's it. The shop down the road have everything to connect with the Link so im going to take it there. I need to have the car tune anyways so im just waiting on money.

It actually misfired, i don't know about throwing a code, but that might be also true. i just don't have a way to look inside link(connect)

You should just get yourself a cheap laptop so you can tune and do things yourself. Lots of nest options for you to do other than tune.

There isn't much difference between the green and black top CAS. The green is a Halleffect while the black is optical. They both do their job great and you shouldn't tie yourself down looking for a black top unless you are trying to color match.

Chances are is the green top you may have had was starting to kick the bucket. Gotta remember these sensors are 17 years old.

ok ill check that out but im not getting a random misfire code at all im get an actual misfire why would i get no misfires if my mass air flow is not hooked up is my big question im going to check my maf wires coil pack today and get back to you if that dont work then i know its my cas

The CAS was installed properly? If it's turned 180* upside down it will cause issues as the ECU will think the opposite cylinders are the ones ready to be fired than the ones that really are ready.

Be sure to readjust the timing then with a timing light to 5* advance.

I fixed this problem with a pentiometer, soldering it in place then adjusting the nob. This was before I bought DSMLink. Then I checked the random misfire box, both fixed the problem.

Could you elaborate in detail please I want to be prepared to fix this after my engine is in.:)

ok guys i just adjusted my cas and i think that this has fixed my problem as well as my tps sensor only had one screw in it thanks to the PO which hacked this car all to hell but hey for 1500 and getting a running car isnt bad at all i have to say ill keep you updated thank you so much for all the help i havent got to drive it on the freeway yet but ill let everyone know if this doesnt work im changing my maf then coils and transistor as well as do a volt check on my injectors

so the cas didnt work still the same problem so now im going to buy a maf and o2 to see if that fixes it since when the maf is unhooked i dont see this problem ever for four months of constant daily driving. but if ihook it up car idles like crap and i have the cylinder completly misfire not random am i on the right track
