Yes, I am thinking about swapping an Auto in my 2g from a 5spd. WTF I know it's not what a lot of people do, but I want the car for a daily driver so that my gf can drive it w/o any problems. She can't drive stick either. The car may need a trans soon so I was thinking about putting an auto tranny in there.
It's a fwd.
So, what all is involved and what parts do I need? Anyone done this before? Any write up's online?
Thanks :thumb:

You need a TCU, axles, half shaft, starter, the plate that goes between the transmission and the engine, the dust plate, transmission, oil cooler and lines, rear and passenger side engine mounts and the wiring harness to make it work.

Almost forgot, you also need the shift assembly, the connection that goes to your ignition, the brake pedal assembly as well.

holy sh*t WTF I didn't think it was that many things. #### it, I guess she's learning how to drive stick. My best bet would be to find someone that has a 2g fwd auto and do a swap from theirs.

Thanks guys.

your best bet is to give her bus fare and tell her stop breaking balls or just buy her a automatic POS hooptie and call it a day. Dont violate your car

I have a 2g GSX and Im auto, I would swap with you for your manual stuff, but is your car fwd or awd? your vehicle profile says awd, but you said the car is fwd so I'm guessing they are different cars?
