2g 14b 1/8th times

First time at the track with this car, and my first time at the track with a manual tranny car. I learned i really need more practice launching this car. Also i think my clutch might be slipping or something. Sometimes on the 2-3 shift my revs will just kinda hang there and not go anywhere for a bit and then i smell clutch.(1/2 shift is fine). Almost like the revs arent falling fast enough then the clutch eats the rpm difference? Im a newbie when it comes to 5spds, but i thought normally the revs shot up if the clutch is slipping, which thats not what happening, and it doesnt seem to do it on the street that ive notcied, but then again i dont do many 1st-3rd gear pulls on the street. Sucks because on the run i got a good launch it did that and on the run i didnt get a good launch it was ok

if i can get it to launch and not bog/burn the clutch on the 2/3 shift i should be high 8's easily.

Get an act 2600 and fear no more slippage.

With a decent launch you should be able to cut 1.7's no problem as long as the clutch isn't slipping

Never had any problems with it slipping at launch, just seemed to be right after the 2-3 shift for some reason.

Launch=rev car to 5000-6000 and as you let out clutch, add gas at same speed. I get 1.81 like that, 14b untuned.

i have an auto, but on the t25 i cut a 9.683 @73mph never got the chance to make it when i had the 14b on the car. but i like to see more ppl using the 14b on a 2g for a simple setup. i ran 20psi for about a month, untuned (causing the compressor wheel to melt and shot out the exhaust. weird i kno ) but yeah

my advice work on that launch. i've been told by plenty of dsmers 1/8mile tracks are where u should practice all that than hit up the 1/4 when your comfortable for those timeslips

Pretty happy with it for the mods that ive got and im content for this season. Just need to save up for some winter mods

My brother runs a consistent 9.3x @ 77-78 mph on his 98 GSX @ 17psi on a T25. I never ran mine at the track with a 14B, but I was considerably quicker than him. Once I get it mine back on the jackstands with the 16G, I'll post up some #'s. His best 60 footers lie in the 1.87-1.91 range. The car is a 5 speed with most everything stock, including clutch. Mods include a MBC, Greddy Type-S, and supporting gauges.

What boost level were you at? If the clutch is slipping racing it isn't gonna remedy anything.

I still suck at launching the car, i know it has more in it. I know it can get a 60ft, plus i need to work on my no lift to shift, as i havent gotten that down very well yet. I would think the car has a ~8.3 in it. Im running about 18-19psi. Even with an upgraded sidemount, it still heat soaks pretty quick. For what ive got into it, its going pretty well so far.

I know this is a old thread, but does anybody else have time slips with the 14b? I would but local track is closed due to cold weather.

cut a 1.803 60 foot today but still only managed a 8.561 at 81.33. Need to work on quicker shifting.

Still has more in it i think, im afriad to turn the boost up much higher because i still have some creep.
