i didn a comlete isntall in my car, added a hug of 100% antifreez in its and for some reasone the temp kept rising with the fans on, so i cecked the resivor cap and the water neck looked dry, so i adden like another half of coolent and it still got hot the other day, the headgasket is good, im thinking maybe bad thermostat? it would be located at the motor side of the lower radiator hose correct?

The thermostat is on the motor side of the upper radiator hose. I would try changing the thermostat. Also if you have air in the coolant system this will also cause high tempertures. Also you shouldnt be putting in 100% antifreeze you need to mix that. You should also re-read you thread before you post it, it makes it alot easier for us to tell you whats wrong when we can actually read it.

I'd just go buy a thermostat there only like $5 or $10. Then you can rule that out if your still having a problem.

NO they are not hard. I did mine in a parking lot and it took me 5 minutes. I polluted the earth through becasue i let some anit-freeze get on the parking lot. Sorry lord. Anyways don't crack the housing by tightening it too much.

yea i just draine alot of it out and im gonna put a good amount of water in it, im tring to figure out witch clip is for the temp is it the green wire or yello? cause all i am going by right now is my dms link

is the thermostat on the water neck or the bottom hose? cause my friend said its inside the water neck but its to cold outside to do anything at the moment

289?!?!?!?!?!?

I was freaking out when my alternator belt snapped and my DSMLink logged 253... Luckily nothing major happened.

Edit: Except for the motor blowing up a month later.. LOL. But that was a whole different problem/situation.

You could just have an air bubble in the system. Try drilling a tiny hole in the thermostat to let the bubble by. I had an overheating problem in my mustang after I drained the coolant and that cured it. Make sure you are full of 50/50 mix like everyone else said and if all else fails... Buy a new thermostat, they're cheap.

Try running 50/50 antifreeze and water. If you still have problems try 70/20/10 water to antifreeze to water wetter.

yea im goin to do that tomorrow, i live in ny and the weather is crap right now but can u take a look when u get a chance and see wich wire is conected to the prong beloww the water necek for thermostatic reading
