I have a freshly rebuilt stock 7bolt and I was thinking of running some cams. Like 264/272 i have a evo3 16g with all supporting mods and a dsm link. I'd like to have that lope sound along with more performance gains. Would this be a good move ? What brand cams should I run ? Thanks!

You can, and it will help midrange power, although not real necessary. But if you do, check out delta cams. And probably wouldnt hurt to upgrade your springs while youre in there. I got my cams and springs for around $400

With your set up, stay to the smaller 272 cams.

Comp/FP2, HKS or BC.

Doubtful you will have much lope unless you have adj cam gears and can dial it in.

New valve springs would be a wise investment also.

I ran BC 264/272 on my big 16g. Went from 6400 flatten off to like 7500. It lurches in parking lots so I wouldnt recommend 272s unless youre building for something much bigger later. Be aware boost will fall off after cams if youre running higher boost like 21+, it was a noticeable loss of off boost power also.
