ok i know it is harsh engagemnet but how bad is bad what is the in between shifts like?? it's not a DD. just trying to get opinoins on people that have it. the reason i went with it is becasue i dont feel like chaging clutches every year. thanks guys

you could always get a spec puck clutch disk with a act2600 pressure plate. the spec clutch disk is slippable from what i hear. im going to be using the pressure plate whenever i decide to put my fully built 2.0 in..

act does have one now, however there are a bunch of sprung 6 pucks that you can pair up with the 2600. Don't get a unsprung six puck, both you and your tranny will hate it.

but doesnt it hold alot better? and the problem with the springs poping out you wont have to worry about? it would be ok for a car that is street driven but only about once a week (just my fun car)???:sosad:

Both will hold the same amount of torque, just the engagement is going to be slower with the sprung disk which will be easier on the synchros in the tranny. It will also make it alot easier to slip the clutch. In between shifts there will be no difference. To the original poster, I would've gone with the 2900 since it has the same pedal pressure as the 2600 and will hold better since he has a set up that can make big power. If the disk is made correctly then you shouldn't have trouble with the springs. I think we only hear about those few time they fail, rather than the vast majority of times when they don't.
