Will 245-45-17s on Evo Enkeis combo hit on anything on the inside of the wheels without spacers on a 2g? I am going to roll the fenders and have JIC coilovers.

All depends on your ride height. I run 245/45/17s on Evo VIII Enkeis. With ProKits & Koni Sports, I had to roll my rear fenders and run at least -1.5* camber all the way around or I will rub on the fenders.

I'm running 235/45 on my Evo XI enkies and I'm lowered about 2" all around, I had to roll all four of my fenders and I'm still running about 1 degree negative camber on all around.

The owner of JIC told me all I need to go is down 1" max on there kit to get a real nice mix of drivability and control. He said lower than 1" and I will get bumpsteer in heavy corners. I am going to roll all the fenders but I do not plan to go aggresive on the camber. He also told me to get some aggressive offset wide wheels to run a 265 or 275 tire which I wish I would have known before I bought the Enkeis. He said its worth it to flare the fenders wider to be competitive on the track.

So it sounds like this is a track car and not used on the street? Sell the Enkeis and buy some new wheels, if you are going to take the verbatim from the owner of JIC.

I might try to sell the Enkeis but I can also just put a good long life 245 high performance all season and use the enkeis as a daily driver set and sell my 97 gsx wheels and save for some all out 18s for the track. I don't drive the car much but for now its not an exclusive track car. Just looking for a good deal on a older street bike and then the Eclipse becomes a more devoted track car.

so it clears the upper knuckle? im looking at doing a set of 555's. how bad with the ~1.58 effect the tire over time?

I know that denying the premise of a thread is rather rude, but why do you want 245/45/17s, anyway? Unless you are running out the top of fifth, you'd be much better off with 245/40/17s for almost any use (beside rallycross).

b/c they dont offer R compound drag radials in that size... i am looking into getting 555r's if i had a choice id sun a 225 or 245.. but i dont have many options for a drag radial..

Drag radials, eh? Well, then why 17" wheels? You should be looking at the smallest wheels that fit over your brakes. Since people don't put big brakes on drag cars (for very good reasons), you probably still have stock brakes at most. So you should be looking at 245/45/16s, IMO.

16" is the smallest (i have a gsx upgrade, and will move on to brembo in the winter.. ), but its also street driven, so i cant justify getting 16s as well as 17's, as i dont hit the track that often.. not nearly as much as i do the streets.. but ive decided to get the reg 555's for now, as a good street tire, on 17's (235-45-17), then mayb next yr get slicks for strip only.
