Will 235/40/17 fit on a stock 2g anniversary edition rim? Im lowered about 1.8" as well on a 2g. If that wont fit whats the biggest tire i can get for the stock rim? i tried searching but didnt really find nething.

No. People _have_ put a 235/45 tire on the stock GSX wheel, but that's really pushing it. A 40 sidewall would make it even worse. 235/45 is the correct sidewall proportion for your car. You can use a 235/40 but it would have to be a wider wheel. I had 225/45 on the stock GSX wheel and even that bulged slightly. Some tires are wider than others, even at the same rating. I highy suggest you upgrade your wheels, go with some 17x8 with a +40 offset, and then you can run 235/40. The stock wheels are way too narrow, and too wide a tire will really hurt handling. It will help in a straight line for launching, but response and handling will be sacrificed a lot.

Also, looking at your profile, you really ought to do the rear camber mod. It can be done for almost nothing, and it's pretty easy. You have too much rear camber, which will wear your tires (especially if you haven't gotten an alignment and your toe is off), and it will also make your car push. You want more camber in the front than in the rear when the car is at rest, and you want 0 toe all around.

As stated above, you can go as far as 225/45/17 on stock wheels, but that could well come back and bite you. The odds are, you will decide you want something wider, but you're now stuck, since you just paid for new tires. Better to save up and do it right the first time.

Unless, of course, you are doing a type of racing that requires OE-sized wheels, such as autocrossing in Stock. Then it's 225/45/17 and deal with it.

so will the 225/45/17 tire fit the stock GSX wheels with no rubbing??? even on a 1.3in drop? im just interested in see how wide I can go with a tire with no problems. I have 205/50/17s on them now.

Stock is actually a 215/50/17. With 225/45 you won't even come close to rubbing, you'll have plenty of room at that ride height.
