I'm trying to figure out if I can run a set of 225/55/17r tires I already have. I have found people running 225/50's but not 55's. Are they too big? I don't wanna spend the money putting them on if they won't work so I would like to find out first.

A 225/45/17 which a lot of people use has a diameter of 24.97". The 225/55/17 you are asking about has a diameter of 26.74". That's 1.77" larger diameter which is pretty significant. I don't see how that could fit with the struts.

55s will rub bad if you want 225s get them in 225/45.

Thanks for the info everybody. Wasn't needing to buy any at the moment anyway. I just happen to have the 55's sitting around and thought it would be nice if they fit but of well.
