215/50/17 Vr rated??

would 215/50/17 vr rated tires be to small for my car, power?

staying where im at now for awhile. Im just looking for a decent street tire that rob me of my cars power. Right now i have 235/35/19 and they are way to big. performance wise, would they perform better?

I think you'll benefit from the weight savings of a 17" rim more than anything. Then run a 225/45/17 tires.

Your 19's will probably corner better and perform better on a road or autocross course with the extra width and less sidewall, but the 17's will most likely give you good overall performance with some slight improvement in acceleration and braking with less unsprung weight.

My thing is that somebody wants to trade me a set of rims for mine but theirs are 215/50/17 thats why i was wondering how they would work
