Im either going to put 215/55 or 50 tires on my stock swirlies and I cant decide which size. I know theyre both real close to the stock size but I wondering which you all would prefer with stcok suspension and everything. Thanks

More sidewall more comfy, less sidewall less sidewall flex (better handling)

more comfy or better handling, more comfy or better handlin, more comfy or better handling???!!!

Tough choice here, your call....

It might be an easy choice if he was awd, cuz he'd def want to go with better handling...but since he's fwd and has no handling anyways, comfort might be the way to go....

:tease: that was very rude, and innacurate. The only problem a gst has is power on handling, in steady state it has an advantage from less weight.

Keep dumb comments to yourself, theres no need to type them out.

You're not going to notice much difference between the two. The 55's will fill a little more fender gap.

...and be more comfy.

Notice I'm also fwd. Wasn't trying to be rude.

Let me apologize for that, although it would not have been the first time some body tried to start a fwd/awd debate. I am :coy: for my unnecassary comment.

Wow!, i fit in my eclipse´97 a wheels with measuring 215/45/17 and i´m very happy with them. I think it´s better than stock (for all), but here in Spain i don´t understand the reason why we can´t fit 50 or 55 sizes :dsm:

You can fit a 50 series if you want, but the speedometer readings won't register properly any longer.

You will be going a little faster than the speedometer says you are.

I have a set of Cooper Zeon ZPT directional tread tires. Tire size is 225/50R16. These tires are great at handling, and the ride is not bad. Will put them on again when these wear out. UTQG is 380 AA

Whether they fit or not will depend on the tire. I run '95 five spoke wheels on my '91 GSX and a 215 wide Azenis wouldn't come close to fitting. I didn't think going up just a little in size would make any difference but it did.

I ended up buying some Ford Probe GT 7-1/2" wheels to get the tires to fit. Had I bought the wheels first I could have stepped up to 225 wide.

Live and Learn... after you spend $$$.

well I am goping 225/50/16 on stock 1G rims...
tight fit to the rim, a bear to get on... but I am going to a wider rim soon (hopefully) I just have them 5 Psi low and they are fine. Look mean too.
