You should have no problems with that but its not going to flow like a 20g but it will still spool up faster than one its like a good comprise of power vs spool . Or a t3/t4 they are better then a t3 but not as much as a t4 .

^huh? EBay wheels will work, but who's to say it won't grenade at full boost. Also, the down firing comp cover is better flowing

That particular one he posted is a Kinugawa wheel, which are well known and used by various turbo builders with great success. I'd trust it 100%.

Yes you can do it. It will work. But you have a small 16g, so your CHRA will have to be machined for the bigger comp wheel.

I purchased and installed that exact kit. Very simple and there is no reason you should have any problems. As long as you tighten the shaft nut, then nothing is going to grenade. Very nice piece, I was suprised of the quality.

On a 16G or a 14B? More details please, I'm curious what all is involved in "converting" a 14B/16G into a 20G. I know the back plate on a 14B is flat where as a "G"(16G/20G, etc) is dipped/concave.

Big 16G's, Evo 3 16G's, and 18G's all have the same exducer specs when it comes to the compressor wheel. So with any of those turbo's all you need to do is swap the compressor wheel and cover and bam 20G. Or you can get your existing compressor cover machined for the wheel as well. Though like as was already said the down firing cover's with the 3 inch inlets will flow more.

With 14B's or small 16G's the CHRA will have to be machined for the larger exducer. And the 14B will also need machining to fit the "superback" (concave) part of the comp wheel.

Alright so since I have the small 16g its not possible without machine work. So for the price of the rebuild, housing/wheel and machine work I'm prob better of just buying an actual 20g :(

Explain, in detail, how a 20G is not going to flow like a 20G.

OK, now I'm thoroughly convinced you have no idea what you're talking about.

Open the groove on the center housing to a diameter of 68.5-69mm, then install the corresponding wheel and cover. Done. :D
