Just starting a thread for the 2011 englishtown dsm/evo, wrx/sti shootout. Looking to see who will be attending and try and get a decent turnout. I know in previous years this show does not get the same crowd as the ohio dsm evo shootout but its still a good time.

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM 8th Annual Mitsubishi & EVO vs Subaru & WRX-STI Day. Street Muffled vehicles only. Open 10AM

That was taken from e-towns website and here is the link. Currently there are no flyers or other info for the event. Years previous there is a judged car show with trophies, vendors, and good ol' mitsu, subie grudge racing.

Drag racing schedules for Top Fuel Dragsters, Funny Cars, Modified, motocross racing, monster truck shows in NJ, and other fun group activities.

SEE YOU THERE!!!

You'll have a good time. Ive gone several years already. its not as good as the shootout but if youve never been to Ohio and can only visit this one then its not bad at all. It would be good to see ya again. I might be running the car finally. Need to buy any parts? LOL

haha im no genius with tuning. Just manage to make my car run pretty decent. Atleast it hasnt blown up yet. Im only running it if I have a truck and triler lined up to either tow it there or tow me home if it breaks. I need a built trans as well. I have a spare laying around that dogbox might get that weekend if they happen to be running at etown. Depending on how much it will be to build a 1990 trans I might be swapping everything to a 92-94 trans or really upgrading to a 2g trans. Either way involves the axles being changed as well as shifter cables and shifter base. I still have more weight reduction planned on the car before e-town. I'd love to see Island Dragway have a dsm evo weekend but If someone has an oil down situation we would be done for the day.

I will be attending along with a few friends. There is also another one on Novemer 19th. My friend will be running his 97 gsx if he can get a new manifold by then.

90% sure that i will be there.., my first time also.. I've never been to a track :).. I'll also be running for the first time at least 2 weeks befor eto practice some good launch/shifting, My first ever Turbo car is coming out amazing.. loving the DSM world..

Not if I don't get a cage put in before ;)

I'm kinda in the same boat. I would really like to race at this event since it's less than 3 hours from me, but if i get all of the bugs worked out, I may get booted off the track. So do i chance racing and paying a lot more money to trailer my car with tripple the toll $ and maybe get a pass or two, or do i play it low key, drive the car up and represent in the bleachers?

there is always next year to run.if i dont get my motor done im just gonna just rep.

Holy crap, there seems to be a pretty good crowd going already. This should be a fun time and hopefully my car will be somewhat tuned by then because I want to see what Im running.

Ill be there for sure if nothing goes wrong.... (and i survive this hurricane :D)

Not sure if i should run tho... my car is basically stock... i don't wanna embarrass DSMs :sosad:

But we still got time. Ill try saving up some money and get this baby ready. Any recommendations? All i have is a injen cold air, upper hard pipe and greedy bov. Boost and wideband going in soon along with a boost controller.
Looking for a AWD 2g exhaust. Hopefully i will have enough and find one before the shootout.

Nonetheless. Can't wait. :hellyeah:

If your car is not up to date on every little safety item as per the NHRA guidelines, I would not bring your car. They are very strict as this is a track that has the big boys normally. Honestly, I hate to say it but last years event was sad. There was a ton of 13 second Subaru kids with thier little Ken block hats, but thats about it. They are so strict with Tech that most the fast cars don't show up. I think there were 3 cars in the Q16 class last year and they gave the one the boot. Either way, its a racing event and I will probably be there. I just wish it was like it was the year before.
