Here are some better outdoor shots. It still needs to be cleaned up, wet sanded, and rubbed which I'll do when I get back from Beaverun.

It's been a slow week since we got back from Beaverun. The only real progress we've made on the car is we've identified a bad spherical bearing in the passenger RRE caster/camber plate. The RRE plates are designed to be serviced so after a quick email to Mike at RRE, I have what I need and the bearings are on there way.

I have two projects this weekend. First is to get the trailer enclosed and the lights wired up. Second is to install the FP3052 turbo that Art Hoffman loaned us for the race. Next week we should be able to get the car tuned and the water injection installed. I'll have blogs of every big thing we do so keep an eye out!

Three weeks and counting...

Seeing how it was Easter weekend I didn't get as much done as I would have liked to but I did manage to get the the new spherical bearings install in the RRE caster/camber plates and I built a box for the trailer. You can read all bout it and check out more photos here in my blog.

Something had to give and after a couple of flawless weeks of service the One Lap VR4 went down. I was really lucky to only be moments from home and with the Eclipse sitting the garage I was able to source everything I needed to get back on the road.

You can read all about and check out more photos in our blog here...

How did you manage to break the axle? From the trip at the track a few weeks ago?

How did you manage to break the axle? From the trip at the track a few weeks ago?

I don't think I broke the axle. I think the bolts that hold in on came loose and as the axle wobbled it either lost or sheared the bolts off. Either the bolts wern't up to the task or they were not tightend down enough. That type of thing can happen when you take a whole care apart and put it back together.

Needless to say we are going to have to go back over the car bolt by bolt and make sure everything is good to go.

We worked last night getting the FP3052 that Art Hoffman loaned us installed. We had to build a new O2 housing which took up most of the night. We also had a local reporter stop by to get our story and take a few photo's. Things were buttoned up my midnight and this morning I drove it to work.

A few pulls and tweaks of the boost controller and its ripping at 21psi. This is going to be nasty out on the track.

You can read all about it and check out more photos here on our blog.

I'd love to see some logs once you get the 3052 tuned well. Do you happen to be running a MAP sensor?

Our first sponsor was ECMlink who loaned us a V3 set-up that we are using with a GM MAF. We are hitting the dyno Tuesday afternoon which we are hoping to stream live video from. We'll have lots of stuff to post from that. Keep an eye out for a blog post.

If you have a moment please leave a comment on MotorTrend for us. Lets see if we can't get the DSMtuners sponsored One Lap VR4 in print!

We rolled the car into Street Tuned Motorsports yesterday afternoon to put the car on their dyno and to enlist the aid of Emery in getting the car tuned with the ECMLink. It was a bit of a learning curve for us all, getting to play with the new ECMLink version 3 software.

At the end of the day the car is running 25psi on pump and meth making 355hp on a Mustang dyno scaled for a 4000lb car. If the scaling was set to the cars real weight the numbers would have been higher but I am not a big fan of dyno numbers. I know two cars that came off that dyno that made at least 60hp less that run 11.9's at 115mph. That puts us firmly in the 120's where I wanted to be.
