We are bringing a trailer for sure. Some of the things on the trailer are going to be a spare transmission, wheels, alt, brakes, etc..etc. Bringing the car and us back home is priority number one. I've tracked my Eclipse on race tires and on KhumoMX's so I know what tires can do for you. I also know that if you drive them right a crappy tire like the KhumoMX can keep up with Porsche's and vette's on race tires. So the short answer on tires is as much as we would love the best tire out there we have a budget that is stretched as thin a wire. So $200 a pop tires are out. Although we haven't finalized a tire choice yet we are considering the starspecs in a 255/40.

We would love to see fellow DSM guys across the country so PM me your contract info and we'll add you to the list. Just keep in mind that we will be hustling so we may not have lots of time to hang out. If you can't make it out to see us run we'll have everything streaming live so you can ride along with us.

Cool! Is that just going to be on a site you guys are going to set up? Make sure you post the link.

And not to be pushy on you but could I see a shot of the bay when you guys are done? Thanks :thumb:

I am pretty sure the live stream will be on both sites. But stay tuned on DSMtuners because they are getting all the good stuff first including streams, video, photo's, and blogs.

Keep an eye on the blog page and you will find lots of shots of the engine bay as we build up for the race. As we near the start we will have better "glamor" shots to share as well.

Parts are starting to make there way in with the biggest addition being a big stack of StarSpecs. I also got a 12ft section of high temp brake cooling ducting which is a departure from the dryer hose I normally use. I made the switch because I wanted to make sure it would last the whole trip. For a helmet I chose the G-Force modified which is a SA2005 certified helmet that features a big eye port and a channel in the padding for glasses. Also got a few quarts of ATE super blue which has worked great for me in the past and is less then $15 a can.

When new parts show up to the house its like Christmas for my little girl. She has more fun with the boxes then she does with stuff thats inside.

I would love to do this....

Good luck guys, I know you'll represent us well!!!

I got a little bit of work done last night. I worked on modifying the brake line brackets that mount to the front struts. The lower collar on my DSS coilovers was hitting the stock ones so I welded on a tab to drop them a 1/2". We also had a meeting to set the schedule for March and really work on the "to do" list of mechanical items. Sunday is our next big work day and also when we get the trailer hitch. Not really enough to blog so I'll just put the photo's here.

The forcast called for warm weather so I took a day off from work to do some welding. I worked on putting an exhaust together for the VR4 that combined the system off the Eclipse with parts from the VR4 along with a pair of resonators to quite things down a bit. I am really happy how it turned out.

You can read more about it and check out more photo's on the blog...

I wasn't as productive on Saturday as I was on Sunday. I worked on getting the L1R turbo installed and that led to me building a new lower intercooler pipe and a host of other small nagging little issues. In the end the car didn't start like I had wanted it to but progress is progress so I will just have to wait until next weekend to get this rolling.

For more details and photo's check out the blog entry:

Steve and I got everything buttoned up and we gave it a shot getting her started. The trouble was we forgot the laptop to set up ECMlink and the breaker for the battery kept tripping. The best we could do is a backfire. Check out the blog for more details and photot's.

I may be able to come out to the BeaveRun event. I grew up a few miles from there and have family there. I also can make a few calls to see if I can get the support of a machine shop in the event that anything drastic happens.

I just got back from the alignment shop. We have a Firestone service center about 2 minutes from where I work and the guys there are great and if you get one of there lifetime alignments you never have to pay one again. It comes in really handy when you have a car like the One Lap VR4 where we are going to be constantly tweaking it until we get it right.

I have the ride height set just a touch lower then stock and here are my after alignment specs.

Front left
-2.63 camber
0.1 degrees toe
3.26 caster

Front right
-2.7 camber
0.1 degrees of toe
3.38 caster

Rear left
-2.3 camber
0.0 degrees toe

Rear right
-2.3 camber
0.0 degrees toe

Rear thrust angle
0.0

Today was a long day getting the last projects finished up before we go to Beaverun this upcoming weekend. Today we got the trailer hitch installed, the radiator installed, one of the brake cooling ducts installed, the passenger side half-shaft, and the hoods swapped.

You can read more about it and check out the photos here in our blog.
