Hello fellow DSMer's. Just thought I'd see what your opinions are on the 2003 Tiburons. I'm a salesperson at a Hyundai dealership and we've really been selling the Tiburon lately. It seems like they're picking up in popularity with the young tuning crowd. A couple of guys have already done the usual upgrades; exhaust, intake, wheels. One guy even got a 50 shot hooked up. What do you guys think of the car?

Check this one out!

I only have a problem with people comparing them to sport cars, which they are definitely not. That is all. Want to sell more Tiburon's? Make them fast, agile and affordable. That is alll I am saying.

Looks decent, great price, great handling...still, I'd drive it if i had to but I'd rather buy a 2g eclipse for the money of course.

Well said pcone, that's why I still have my GST. When I started this thread forever ago, I just wanted to see what everyone thought, if they've driven or seen one in person, stuff like that.

I'm definitely not saying for us all to go buy one. I may sell Hyundai's, but I'm a DSMer at heart.

Hey nutshot, since everyone on here seems to have a diff. opinion about what a "sports car" is, we should just drop it. To me, it's at least a sporty coupe, especially for someone shopping a new Eclipse or Celica, etc.

No, I think I should try to make you more angry, its easy, and I laugh at yer responses... :D

Angry, over you typing something? It takes a lot to get me mad, and a car chat forum would be the last way possible. I haven't gotten angry from anything you've said. It's me who's laughing about how every time you reply to a thread, no matter what the topic, you have to say something smart-ass to look cool. Keep trying, you'll win us all over eventually.

I'll put into the rerquest to Hyundai for that bare bones AWD 4 with no options for you, get the kidneys ready. Well, anyway........, I hate when a threads turns stupid, and this one is well on it's way, so post whatever you feel like, and I'll respond to real replies:thumb:

hey Eclipsed95,why does the Tiburon cost loaded in the US under 20 000and here it costs about 25000.Why?

It costs $25,000 in Germany? An absolutely loaded six-speed V6 here stickers at about $20,600. The only thing that I can figure is that it costs Hyundai more to import into Germany than the states. With an extra $4500 here you could supercharge it and then some.

a celica gt costs 28000 Euro,and the loaded V6 tiburon was 25000Euros

Met a guy in Everett WA a few weeks ago with one...

had a Jackson Supercharger strapped to the top of the damn thing... took it to the track and was pulling 13.8 in it...

Hey Raph, one difference is that almost everyone listed on that link has a body kit, different wheels, chrome headlight housings, etc. I've seen dealerships in the DC area putting body kits and aftermarket wheels on the Tib, jacking the price up by like $3500. That's the only reason besides price to import into Germany that I can think of.

oh,the tiburon (coupe) comes with that Bodykit (v6) as standard equipment.(the wheels are a dealer throw in)

we are gonna start selling em too in 3 months (opel dealer).

I think they are cute, but my beef with them is extremely poor gas mileage for the power level.

My brother bought the first six-speed V6 from our dealership. It averages about 23mpg city and highway combined. That's definitely better than most V8's, but not as good as it could be for a V6. I agree though, either bump the power and get the same mileage, or get better gas mileage.

I was next to one today in rush hour and was thinking "if that had the 4g63Turbo and a six speed it would be perfect"

other than that ill keep the TalOn/

I agree with most people here though. Make it spin all four wheels, and either let that V6 rev up past 200HP or put a lighter turbo four in there, and you've got a major hit.

bwhaha yea make it spin all 4 wheels with all 200 raging hp, funny.

More like bog down and eat up clutches, now if it had over 300hp...

They dont offer that model because it wont sell

Why do you think the 3g Eclipse is an anemic 2wd V6? Because thats what people buy. They sell what 10,000 WRX and will sell about 5,000 Lancer EVOs a year? Teh GSX Eclipse accounted for about 5% of total Eclipse sales in its final years...I dont think Hyundai really has the performance minded buyer in mind with the Tiburon even tho they rally a 300hp AWD bad ass over in Europe in the WRC/
