So we took the engine out of a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclypse that had a blown auto tranny and are in the process of finishing up putting it into a 1992 Eagle Talon, and we've noticed that there were some slight differences in the wiring harnesses. Most of them we've resolved by swapping parts back and forth from the two engines, but we still haven't attempted to fire the up the motor yet, due to some problems disconnecting the old exhaust, and waiting on a new radiator, so I figured I'd ask about the two we can't figure out.
The ones we can't swap, or rather, don't want to do anything drastic with, are located on the drivers side of the motor, below the valve cover and fuel rail. One looks like a sensor, but the interfaces are different for whatever it is, and the other seems to have been a clip with 6 pins in a single row on the '90 engine, but has 7 or 8 pins on the '92 wiring harness. It's right below the fuel rail as I said, somewhat in the same area of where the spark plug cables attach.
If anyone could tell me what those two clips do, it'd be great.
