2 questions, fuel pump / oil sending unit.

1) I changed my fuel pump gasket and how my gas guage went all the way below E ! How can i fixed this ? I tried driving around for a bit with no luck.




2) What color wire/where is the wire for the sending unit? My oil guage is also not working and i wanted to start there.

You either broke the float or it's got loosened some how! That happened to me too! Just take it out of the tank and look at the float and the little needle that touches the copper wires will be off line some. You can bend it back or if it's not fixable then the float assembly isn't too much on ebay or one of the dsm parts stores.

My oil presure gauge wire was loosened while I changed my alternator and It is a small black wire that goes right to the filter assembly. That's the only wire I know is at!

I am still a little confused on where its locatd on the FP, can you explain with this picture ?

its not on the fuel pump - its under the accsess panel right in the center (under the backseat in the same area as the pump)

As for the oil pressure gauge- odds are the wire fell off the sending unit on the filter housing. (it happens often)

ok sorry to beat a dead horse here but I want to understand this before I try to fix it tonight. so if I pull the pump out I should see this floating device in the tank? I though it was that little arm thing with the black rubber stopper. How should it look? so I can identify if that's the problem when I put it out. again sorry for all he question but I have to do this after work and have limited time. thank you

If it's not working because of the float arm then the little box at the top of the arm is were that little needle is that touches the coils. If it's off line then the float will read empty on the gauge. If you can fix it (if thats the problem) then bend it back. Just take the screws off the box, it should be those 4 small screws and then just check out the unit and post to tell how it went. You may need yo buy a new one! Hope that is the problem!

I got the oil guage working. The sending unit wire was torn off totally where that connector was.

Now i didn't have time for the gas pump but you are saying i should be looking in this area for my gas guage being stuck on E ? (picture below)

Also remember the guage worked fine a few days ago. It was when i removed it to replace the gasket that i had the problem. So something either came loose or broke. Thank you.

Yes thats the area, under that is the needle and copper coil sensor I was talking about. When you replaced the gasket you had to take out the pump, right? Taking it out or putting it back in you may have mistakingly bent the arm. If it's not that then check the wires going to the pump and see if you cut one or loosened it.
