Okay, we'll play. What is the basis for your "beleif" [sic]?
How do you replace it,
Turn left to unscrew, use Permatex Non-Hardening on the threads of the new one, and don't go wild with tightening (uh, turn right for that) as the tapered threads can split the oil housing.
and is there somthing else that migt be wrong besides the actual unit its self?
The wire could have fallen off. Other things that could be wrong include gout, basic incompatibility in a marriage, acid rain, global warming (or, cooling), expenses which exceed your income, not bothering to use our nice, new spellchecker for posts, or a fascination with that hip-hop "music" stuff. As well as many, many other things. Or did you just mean about the car?

Where is the unit located? The reason I believe it has gona bad is because I dont get any readings in my instrument panel....... Well I did once for a few seconds then it went right back down to "0".

I had the same problem. It turned out that the wire clip that holds the wire to the sender unit broke off. I just zip-tied it back on for a quick fix until i replace the wire. Also, the oil sender unit for the 2g's can be seen underneath the front drivers tire. Just peak your head up there and you will see a tiny drum about the size of a small bagel. :dsm:

Can someone please tell me how to find the unit on a 1g AWD please. Thanks! Pics would be great!

its right next to the oil filter.

kind of off topic:
does anyone know if theres a fix instead of replacing that little clip for the sending unit?

ok, look where the oil filter is, you should see something right next to it that is holding on a little piece of metal with a tiny screw on the end of it. thats basicly the best explaination of that. if your light isnt turning on in the dash you need to buy a new one. i got one for like $7 at napa so they arent expensive. and if your talking about the oil pressure gauge not working, that doesnt work until the car is running. im not sure if thats what you wanted, but it should help you

i stripped the wire and wrapped the exposed metal around the screw and tightened it up. worked for me
