I am looking to upgrade my stock exhaust with a 3 inch turbo back. My one question is would i loose any power by going straight to a 3" as aposed to a 2.5"? As of now I just have the stock t-25, but i have a evo 16g on the way and im just waiting to put that in untill i get a way to tune and the supporting mods. I found one thread from 03 kinda about this but it didnt answer this question directly. Thanks for the help!

You won't lose power by going 3", but if a 2.5" is enough for your goals (and it is for an E316G on pump) I'd go 2.5". It'll be cheaper, quieter, and will help prevent boost creep.

Since 3" is so popular its actually sometimes cheaper then 2.5". A 2.5" exhaust would help with boost creep issues on that 16g so that is something to consider. I personally would, and did, go with a 3" exhaust (and I'm still on the 14b).

Like others said. 3inch. Its the best rout because for one you won't have to upgrade again. Two it sounds nicer. And 3 is its just cool to say youve got a solid 3 inch tube the whole way back LOL. Boost creep is going to be an issue but if you get the turbo's wastegate ported or buy a external gate then youll eliminate that issue as well.

Yea I think I will go for the 3". I wasnt plaing on modding this car at all, now im going to a 16g so im sure in the future i will be seeing a MHI 20g! Thanks for the advice
