Well guys I am gettin ready to put my SBR 2.3 L Stroker Kit together and have a couple of quetions about tuning..... For my current set-up contains 750cc injectors, 255LPH HP Fuel pump rewired, GM MAFT, and a SAFC2... My question is how well will i be able to tune with this set-up??? I just need to be able to get the car to run good at idle and support the 60-1 until I can save up for a better setup...

Also, when the time comes what Engine management should I go for?? I have been reading and reading and have broken it down to the AMS EMS, DSMLink, or the HALTECH E6K... I'll be doin more research in the mean time.. but it's you guys and your opinons that matter.... :thumb:

Fill out your profile compltely so that we have a better understanding of the car in question. Tuning for a 2.3L is no different than tuning for a 2L, so if you can tune your car right now then you can tune your new engine. As for which engine management system is all depends on your budget and what your looking to get out of it.

Haltech: Quite a bit more user friendly than aem if you don't have much experiance with 3d based stand alone units. Now that they make the addapter to go from the haltech ecu to the stock dsm ecu it makes installing it a lot easier. Before you had to rewire everysingle major wire from the stock ecu to the haltech because they didn't make the harness adapter. If you are looking for all out power this is a good system. However it doesn't have any sort of knock control or knock protection. So you have to hope you don't get a bad batch of gas or tune relatively conservativly to make sure you don't get a whole assload of detonation and mess something up. It is also the cheapest of the three you are thinking about.

Dsmlink: Pretty much a more advance feature packed safc/maft combo. The really great thing about dsmlink is that it you keep all the advantages of the stock ecu(aem had to crank a whole bunch of times for all the engine sensors to "synch" before it will fire fuel and spark). You don't have to deal with cold start tuning(which is a pain). You can still have an ob2 scanner hooked up for smog purposes. One con I see is that after finding and buying a 95 eprom then buying the system and laptop you are into the price of the more expensive standalone options.

AEM EMS: I curently run this in my car and love it. It has tons of features(traction control for us fwd guys, you can control nitrous, boost, meth/water injection/ secondary injectors). The possiblities for what you can do with this system is endless. However it does come at a price and a hefty one at that. Teh cost alone keeps most people away, once you by the software and then all the sensors you are will into the 1.5k range. Second the start up thing is more annoying than anything else. Getting a perfectly running car takes a long long time. Wot tunning and cruising go relatviely easy once you get the hang of the program but I have at least 7 hours into just my idle alone and its still has some issue(other problems than just the tuning). However, my cold start still isn't good because you only have so long before the car goes out of the heatrange for it.

Any other questions feel free to ask.
