Ok so I have looked and looked and looked for the answer to this question and I am not having any what so ever so I though I would post it here. Here in the next couple of months I would like to build a stroker kit for my car. Currently I have a 4g64 bottom end that has a crank in it. I am planning on taking the crank and having it micro polished and use it for the build. My questions are what rods do I use. I am planning on getting forged pistons and rods for the build but I am not sure if I use the stock size rods or if there is a specific size I need to be looking for. If someone could please tell me and possibly even direct me to a place where I can get the correct rods I would highly appreciate it.

If you have a 4g64 block and crank then you have a 2.4l block with a 100mm crank you use stock size rods with 4g64 block with 4g63 head pistons. These are different from normal stroker pistons.

Assuming you are using stroker pistons, you need "stock" size rods that are designed to hold the amount of power you're planning to make. Are you using the 4G64 block, or putting the 4G64 crank in the 4G63? You need pistons matched to your choice of block.

In order to build a 2.3 stroker 4g63 you need a need a crankshaft with a stroke of 100mm, which your 4g64 has. You will also need rods that are 150mm length, that is stock for both the 4g63 and the 4g64, but if your gonna build it I recommend atleast a set of H-Beams such as eagle, manley, or scat. Lastly, as far as the rotating assembly is concerned, is pistons. You will need a set of stroker pistons, they have a much shorter skirt and a raised wrist pin height to compensate for the additional stroke. You can find these parts here, along with alot of other quality items :rocks: ( STM: DSM ENGINE COMPONENTS | PISTONS | RODS | CAMS | TIMING | OIL COOLERS | GASKETS )

I built a 2.3 this last year at school so if you have any more questions shoot me a pm and I can probably help you out.

I'm going to use the 63 block with the 64 crank in it. The 64 doesn't have the oil squirters in it and I don't wanna pay to have them installed. So with that being said what exactly would I need?

Awesome thanks man that was exactly what I was looking for. If I have any question come closer to build time I will certainly PM you. right now it is just in the planning process.

You don't need squirters with forged pistons. I'm not running them in my 2.4l. But either way with a 2.3 or 2.4 you can use stock size rods

I read the thread thanks. And his next post says exactly what I was asking.

Is it a 7 bolt 4g63 block that you are going to use?

I have a 6 bolt

Oh ok cool I'll keep that in mind. I actually wanna keep the 2.4 out of the Talon cause I have an 89 Conquest that I am eventually going to build a 2.1 Destroker kit for. So that block is kinda reserved for that project whenever I decided to stop spending my money on the Talon LOL
