i am building a 2.3 stroker with wiseco pistons 8.8:1, manley rods and 2.4 liter crank
i talked to a few people including slowboy racing about the oil squiters. sbr said i can still use my oil squirters and a couple of other people told me that i am going to have to take them out and get the oil holes plugged. any info would be helpful.

What was the reason they gave you for having to remove the squirters and plugging the holes?

Nope....just check to make sure when at BDC the piston does not hit the squirter, use a flashlight and look to make sure it doesnt hit them. If it does you can take a pair of needle nose pliers to tweak it a bit out of the way. Its just because of the beffieness of the aftermarket pistons.

the reason was for clearance,i ll check that when i start building my motor thanks for your help

When bending them out of the way of the piston/crank be gentle, and leave about 30 thou. clearance between them, and the crank.

If you dont want to bend them, you could opt to get oil squirter's out of some EVO. They are smaller, and don't seem to have the interferance issues.

If you do decide to just plug them. IIRC, use a M12x 1.25 short bolt, with red loctite and crush washers to ensure no leaks.
**Do not leave one washer off. These are crush sealing washers, and are needed to seal.**

I recently read somewhere that if you're using forged pistons you shouldn't run the squirters because they have larger clearance and are designed to heat up, and take more heat than the stockers.. if you cool them off with the oil you may be doing yourself a diservice...

I have no experience to say either way with that, nor do I know if your pistons are forged or not.. just something to possibly look into.

AMS, Buschur, SBR, J. SHep all still use squirter's, and they all still use oil squirter's with their built forged motor's, so I highly DOUBT oil squirter's on a firged motor is doing it a diservice.
