2.0-1.8 tranny swap?

Hi i have a 2.o nt and my tranny went out so i went to the junk yard and all they had were 1.8s and i had her something about them being the smae tranny as the 2.0 and it looks exactly the same except for theres no vents so i got one and i just want to know if it is the same or are the ratios different?

I am almost 100% sure they are the same ratios and stuff. Same tranny number atleast.

hey just wanted to followup and let you all know that the 1.8 tranny did fit perfectly and the only differnces i noticed were the vents to the bell/clutch housing werent there and 1st gear is about 5 mph shorter but all the other gears were pretty close to the 2.0.
