1st time clutch replacement

Took the car to the dealer and aparently I have to replace the clutch, how difficult of a task is it and about how long does something like that take, I am looking to install an ACT 2100 clutch package? I found one for $330 is that a good price? How much would an OEM run?

dont know on the gst's but i think the average for a awd around here is about 800 or so. book calls for 8 hrs. and if you take it to the dealership you can expect to spend more than the average. if your set on satan doing your work you might want to get out the k.y. now and be prepared to take it

Thing is I don't mind doing the work though, it's good experience. I am just wondering how difficult it is do do on one's own and how long it has taken some of the other members on the forum to do.

if you want to do it yourself i would set aside a weekend and give it hell. not really hard just a pita to do.

That is our plan. I am running a pretty much stock setup and wondering if the extra price for the ACT 2100 is worth it over just replacing it with just a stock clutch??

I found myself it was about an 8 hour job with a buddy, that is on a Gst also. It was also my frist time doing a dsm tranny job, I did my awd over the summer and it took only about 4 to drop 6 to put back in because I broke the speed sensor and had troubles mating it up. Well, more like 3 but it felt like 6 with all the cursing and sweat.
